Blue Duck Takes Flight in El Paso
Company Continues to Expand Presence in Texas
SAN ANTONIO AND EL PASO, December 9, 2019 – Blue Duck, a San Antonio-based electric scooter operator, is launching a new fleet in El Paso, building momentum as it continues to open new markets across Texas and targets other locations across the Southeastern United States.
“We are excited to land in El Paso,” said Megan McNamara, Senior Director of Government Partnerships for Blue Duck. “In addition to bringing our brand new next-generation scooters, we are investing in the local economy, creating jobs as we hire an operations team from the community and lease warehouse space here.”
“El Paso is the largest city along the Texas border with Mexico and it is a key element in establishing our regional operational model in Texas,” said CEO Michael Keane. “As we do in our partnerships with other cities, Blue Duck will provide city officials with crucial data to aid planning and regulatory efforts as they address mobility and urban transportation issues,” he added.
With fleets in Corpus Christi, Laredo, Bryan, Alamo Heights, Olmos Park, Brooks in San Antonio, and El Paso, and opening soon in Edinburg, Blue Duck Scooters remains focused on serving small to mid-sized Texas cities seeking creative approaches to solving transportation challenges. “Cities of all sizes benefit from our eco-friendly, low-cost last-mile transportation solution,” said Mr. Keane. He also pointed out, “our scooters are easy to use and offer riders a convenient, cleantech alternative to cars in congested urban streetscapes.”
Through its Equitable Access Program, Blue Duck will offer special pricing to students, veterans or active-duty service members, and people with low-income. Details on the program are on the company’s website at flyblueduck.com/access. The company will operate its scooters in El Paso seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
